Emily W Mims

I wrote my first book on a dare. I'd thrown a romance novel across the floor and said I could do better, and my husband dared me to, which lead to my writing debut. At one time a teacher, I left the classroom some years ago to write full time and have managed to write over fifty contemporary romances, some under the pen name Emily Elliott but most under Emily Mims.
I live in the Hill Country of Texas but travel often to Tennessee and Germany to visit my grandchildren. When not busy writing, I spend my time strumming my ukulele and singing with two performing groups. While I do enjoy researching my stories, I love to write about what I already know-life in the Texas Hill Country, the bluegrass and mountain music scene, community theatre- and like to set books in a locale I know well (which is why Texas and Tennessee are often featured in my stories). My latest series, Bear's Brigade, is set here in San Antonio at Fort Sam Houston in the world of military black ops.
I honestly couldn't tell you where my stories come from. I drive down the highway making up stories in my head and was surprised to learn that not everyone does! Seriously, writing for me is one of the greatest pleasures imaginable and I am delighted to share my stories with you, the reader.
